Free online dating website OKCupid recently put up a post on their blog about a new online photo analyzer they’ve developed that will tell you whether a photo is fit for an online dating profile, which you can check out here. Just by taking a quick look at the comparison of successful photos vs unsuccessful photos, it seems fairly obvious the most successful photos show people in action, completely unaware of the camera, while the least successful are posed shots or the ever-so-popular headshot in front of the bathroom mirror.
If photos are a window into your life for another person, I’d completely side with the analysis. I think ESPECIALLY women want to see what you’re doing in your life, and if all you have is bathroom headshots it looks like you’re looking for attention, and it certainly doesn’t help her verify what you do with your life, if you ever have any fun, if you have any friends, or if you even leave your house for that matter!
It’s not always easy to recognize this being a guy because looks are primary to us when selecting a woman, so if a stunning girl is taking headshots of herself in a mirror then WHO CARES! She’s hot! But information like this is extremely important to women. It absolutely takes precedent over your looks and physical shape.
*By the way, a “successful photo” was determined by which is more “popular,” which I assume means it was clicked on the most by users.

Great article J.B. I totally agree with this article when it comes to men, since female-to-male attraction is based on personality conveyance as opposed to looks.
